you could search the gemini for all showstopper bugs for taht asigned to version 4.4.5 this are the issues after submitting 4.4.4. Solution code would not be provided.

And here I was thinking that thsi was an open source project. so basically what your'e saying is if it's broken tough luck deal with it.

"open source" means, that you get free access to the compiled product and its source code. we currently do not provide access to nightly builds or provide patches.

I understand that, but when a bug that is essentially a show stopper has been around for 6+ months, you would think that an exception of some kind can be made, an act as simple as posting a sticky on this forum with the code for the fix in it with a disclaimer of some sort if you have to would have been good enough, and would save many of us a load of time.

And before you start on how much time the developers spend I may not be a regular contributor to DNN but I write and release free modules for DNN and contribute to other very large open source projects, and when a critical bug like this is found in any of the projects I contribute to It's fixed in a matter of hours not days and never months.

As much as I apreciate the effort that Chris and the rest of his team has put into what is essentially a great module, when they put new features and big releases ahead of fixing the small but critical bugs in the system it has a negative impact on the precepted quality of the system.

It's been close to a year many of us have been strung along and told various times... A couple of months ago it was just about to be released into the project tracker... then again (as has happened before) - nothing.

Such a significant module for DNN, and although not as fully featured as many out there it'd just be nice not to have so many major bugs!  Most of use are just asking that the bugs be fixed... not a nice list of features to add which are so far not released.

It's just so disappointing that a project such as DNN can passively watch so many people get let down and turn away  with such things.

I totally agree with you.
