Hi,

We have used DNN 4.9 for site development and tested the site on 32 bit OS and it is working fine. We have created so many modules in  the and build as "Release, Any CPU". Now we are planning to used Widnows 2003 x64 bit OS so I would like to know

  • Does DNN 4.9 work on x64 bit OS?
  • Let us know if is there any known issues about x64 bit
  • Do I need to rebuild the module as I built using ""Release, Any CPU"?

Thanks,

Ruchir

Test it.  Everything works fine in 64 bit for me, but I don't know what you've developed. Nobody can tell you about your own code.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. I want to know are there any known issues of DNN 4.9 or not. If DNN 4.9 has itself an issue with x64 bit then there is no meaning to test my custom modules otherwise I will try to test my custom modules and resolved the issues if catch during the testing.

However, as you have mentioned that you have not found any issues to running DNN4.9 on x64 bit.  Again I would like to thank you for the reply.

Thanks,
Ruchir

DNN doesn't have any issues, but you'll find possible issues with IIS if you use 32 bit components in your web site, third party ISAPI filters and such.  The forums at www.iis.net can give you help on that.  Personally, I have no issues, but I don't run any 32 bit specific code on the web server.  That's both with Web Edition and Standard.

I have setup site on 64-bit and it's working fine. I have not caught any issues during testing. I would like to know are there any differnce between "Any CPU" and "x64" build option in terms of performance?
