Miriam,

three tables are involved to delete a column:

UserDefinedData - contains the cell data
UserDefinedField - contains the column def
UserDefinedRows - contains the information about the rows

Deleteion of a columns goes as follows:

Clean up Data, remove Fields, examine all Rows whther they still contain a field, delete row other wise. The current code runs into a timeout because of nested datareaders.
I suggest to simply change visible to false for that column and to wait for "form And List" (UDT5)

I changed DeleteField in controller and [dbo].[UserDefinedTable_DeleteField] procedure to:

Public Sub DeleteField(ByVal ModuleId As Integer, ByVal UserDefinedFieldID As Integer)'Dim dr As IDataReader

'While dr.Read

' DataProvider.Instance().DeleteData(Convert.ToInt32(dr(DataTableColumn.RowId)), UserDefinedFieldID)

'End While

'dr.Close()

DataProvider.Instance().DeleteField(UserDefinedFieldID)

End Sub

.... PROCEDURE [dbo].[UserDefinedTable_DeleteField]int

AS

DELETE

FROM

UserDefinedData

WHERE

UserDefinedFieldId = @UserDefinedFieldId

DELETE

FROM

UserDefinedFields

WHERE

UserDefinedFieldId = @UserDefinedFieldId

ALTER

@UserDefinedFieldId
