I have DNN running locally on XP for development. I have moved the database to the remote host and I can point my local install at it through the web.config and run. I copied the website to the host, made the updates related to the SQL Server in the web.config and when I browse the "live" site I get the following error:

Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'LogServerName', table 'bsdnn.dbo.EventLog'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated

When I look at the EventLog table I can see entries from the local machine (based on machine name) but there are not entries from my host - which I expected based on the error message.

I have no control over the host environment - cannot look at IIS, restart and such.

I'm not concerned about the LogSeverName and could change the table design to accept a NULL value (not sure it anything else would be messed up). I'd rather fix it properly. Is this a setting the web.config or elsewhere? Is it related to PortalAlias?

TIA

I get the same error.

I goofed something up-  i copied the the dnn folder contents and pasted them into the root ( root/dnnInstall)

Apparently, this created some conflicts and now when I try to log in, I ge the same error?

Do I need to restart teh db?

Do I need to change a config file?

Help!
