Hi -

I've transferred a DNN installation from a Windows 2003 machine to a Windows 2008 machine.  Everything went well, and the site all run properly except for a permissions problem.  When I log in as Host on the root site, I can add pages without any trouble.  When I try to add pages to a portal (logged in as the host), I am able to add them, but not navigate to them, nor am I able to subsequently edit the page from the Admin | Pages screen after they have been added.  I get a pop-up windo asking for a user name and password to access the page.

I've double checked my IUSER and NETWORK_SERVICE permissions for the folder I have DNN installed in, and they are OK.

By the way, I get the same pop-up login box when I try to post a new blog entry on one of the portals, whether logged in as the portal admin or the host.  Again, this permissions problem does not crop up in the main or root site, just the portals.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rod

There is a subfolder created for any of the child portals, did you validate permissions for this folder (and default.aspx file inside) as well?

Why?  If you're the OP, did you validate the permissions as posted?  Are you using Windows authentication in IIS?  Which pipeline in IIS 7 are you using?

Thanks for responding - yes I did verify permissions - read/execure for IUSR and modify for NETWORK_SERVICE.  The settings were applied to all subfolders.
