Where can I get a copy of the older version of the Events module that originally came with my DNN 3.2.0 installation?  The updated (current) version has way too many function that I don't need and will be too complicated for some of the users.

RybakT:

Wow!  You really think that your users will have a problem with the Events module, eh?

If I understand you correctly, you went and downloaded the updated Events module from www.avanced.net and installed it into your DNN installation.  This overwrote the existing Events module that came with DNN 3.2.2.  And now you want to uninstall the updated Events module and go back to the original, bald version of the Events module.

Well, uninstalling the new Events module should be simple enough.  However, I'm not sure how to reinstall one of the core modules that has been uninstalled.  That's a great question!

We have some users that frequently get themselves into trouble at our organization, so I anticipate a lot of training to properly use the new Events module.  However, the added functionality of the new module is so vital and so beneficial that I'll gladly work with the users to get them up to speed.  I wouldn't want to give up all of that functionality because of a few users that aren't very sure of themselves.

I would recommend sticking with the updated module and "selling" the benefits of new enhancements to the users.  We have one or two users that will still be ornery for a while, but such is life.  Eventually, even the cranky users get used to whatever new program or module is installed.  Heck, once in a while one of these "sticks in the mud" actually comes to like something new!

Good Luck!
Van

P.S. Alan, I love the new enhancements in the Events module.  Keep up the great work!

See Ya! Van

Thanks Van...I hope that the general user population will want to move forward as we try to make the DNN Modules more functional and flexible for folks.  We believe that the more functionality and choices in the DNN modules configuration, the better.  This will be a key differentiator between DNN and other environments...a rich set of high-quality features.

There will always be those that want things more simple...and we will try to make the default a simple install/setup.  However, most users we have talked to want even more features.  Sometimes, we wonder how far to go...You guys are the users and we hope that you will sound off if we're not meeting the mark!

You guys are probably right so I think I'm going to stick with the latest version of the Events module.  But you have to help me out with adjusting the calendars size :)  Where can I adjust the width and height of the calendar?

There is a file installed in the "Events" folder called "module.css"...this is the style sheet for the Calendar...look at the tag called ".Events"...you can change the size and look and feel of the calendar using these stylesheet attributes:

.Event
{
 border-right: black 1px solid;
 table-layout: auto;
 padding-right: 0px;
 border-top: black 1px solid;
 padding-left: 0px;
 font-size: 7pt;
 padding-bottom: 0px;
 margin: 0px;
 border-left: black 1px solid;
 color: black;
 padding-top: 0px;
 border-bottom: black 1px solid;
 font-family: Verdana;
 border-collapse: collapse;
 text-align: center;
 width: 400px;
 height: 400px;
}
