Hi,

 

I have a gridview. The datas are assigned in the codebehind. The values are bound to the grid. I want to perform the sorting. The datas bounded to the grid is stored in a session and i am using this session value to perform the sorting. But it shows the error that

 

Unable to cast object of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[YourCompany.Modules.Modulename.Info]' to type 'System.Data.DataTable'.

 

I have returned the value as CBO.FillCollection and while assigning to the datatable it showed the error .So how to fix this and enable the sorting concept.

 

Please do help soon.

Sherlock,

There are many examples on just how to sort data in a gridview -- google "gridvew sort" and you will discover many of the various ways..  I believe the issue is using the session instead of using the view state to support the data between postbacks

Alternatively -- take a look at module SQLGridSelectView from my site or SQLView from www.dnnstuff.com -- may save you some time.
