Check if AJAX is installed of GoDaddy, there are no end of problems I hear with this provider, I believe it runs pretty much everything in medium trust.

Thanks Alex but Ajax is installed as explained in this article from the godaddy website: http://help.godaddy.com/article/2468

I can also confirm from the fact that I run 4.9.1 using ajax on the same server.

I am probably going to wait until version 5.1 is released, as I've already spent a few hours on that issue.

At the same time is someone has similar problem and manages to fix it please update this post :)

 I have the exact same problem on 05.00.01

AJAX is fine, that's not the problem.

I'm installing on W2K3 R2. ASP is fine, AJAX is fine.

Same problem with scriptModule already being defined, same error when I comment the definitions out of web.config
