Greetings,

Sorry to report, but right out of the gate I'm getting an error related to the Handler mappings in web.config. This is a vanilla install of Windows Server 2008 Enterprise with the Web Server role added. Fresh install of DotNetNuke 5.0.0.

Here is the error, obtained when you try to browse the site or when you try to pull up Handler Mappings in IIS 7.0's management window.

This configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when the section is locked at a parent level. Locking is either by default (overrideModeDefault="Deny"), or set explicitly by a location tag with overrideMode="Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="false".

as far as I read, there is a conflict with an inherited configuration, you might need to change.

Solution:

By default, Handler Mappings and Modules are set to Read Only in the Feature Management section of IIS 7.0's configuration.

Changing these values to Read/Write fixes the problem.
