Hi everybody,

For a client (http://www.cita-vehicleinspection.org) I'm working on DotNetNuke version 04.09.00 and portal has 155 tabs. Now when I add a tab it shows strange behavior. It appears and disappears randomly. Sometimes when I click on the tabname in the menu I am redirected to the home page. I have no clue why this behavior could appear. So if anyone has an idea on where to start looking...

kind regards,
Orlando Frooninckx

I upgraded to DotNetNuke version 04.09.01 and still the same problem. Not only tabs, but also modules seem to have that same problem.

Is the site hosted on multiple servers, or is there any other loadbalancing / caching server that could cause this?

Does the problem disappear after a while or is this permanent random behaviour?

The site is hosted in a signle server environment and it seems to be a random behaviour. When we add a tab sometimes it appears in the sitemap and sometimes it does not. When we look in the database it is certainly there. Same thing for the components on that tab.

Ok, I found several posts refering to worker processes. This looks like what I am going through.  Here are the links:

Link 1 : John Mitchell's Blog : Adding new page shows up randomly in DotNetNuke
Link 2 : DNN FORUM : Caching and updating issues
Link 3 : DNN Caching is Eating My Brain!

I hope my problem is solved now. I'll get back when I see no more problem.
