Hello,

I am quite new to DotNetNuke so please forgive me if this is a silly question. I have installed DNN 5 on my default web site (not in a subfolder or virtual directory). Then I tried to add a new application so that the app would run like this http://myDNN.whatever.com/myapp. Unfortunately this is not working. I even tried creating a simple little 'Hello World' default.aspx and configured an application in it to run, but it won't produce any results. The error I get is appended to the end, but I was wondering if it is even possible to have an application running on a DNN site in its own virtual directory. Can someone please let me know? Thanks,

Scott Watkins

You'll need a new web.config in your sub-app that clears most of the nodes of the parent DNN app like the App_Code/Html subdirectory that is causing your current error.

I'm assuming the sub-app is not DNN, but either way it is not going to be too friendly having an app run under such a heavily configured app as DNN.

It is usually do-able, but takes a few hours to get the right combination of web.config settings in the DNN and the other app.  And there is always the possibility that the two apps are completely incompatible - and you wont know until you try.
