I got an error similar to this.  I don't remember exactly what I had to do to fix it...

1) Do you have the Active Directory module enabled?  If you do, the version that shipped with 5.0 shipped broken.  You can get the beta (working) version from http://dnn.gmss.org/

2) Are you using jquery.noconflict somewhere?  This is no longer necessary as DNN5 ships with jQuery and the developers fixed any namespace pollution issues between ASP.NET Ajax and jQuery.

3) Try updating the Text/HTML module and FCKEditor Provider.

I believe that my issue was a combination of those issues, but I don't quite remember.

We are having the same problem on a DNN 5.6.1 install.  The error only occurs in Firefox when we mouse over a module title or module content to get the inline pencil editor icon to appear.  The pencil icon doesn't show up, and the error mentioned in this post is thrown.

I do not believe any of the scenarios listed above apply to our site either...

Note:  The inline editor pencil icon works as expected in Internet Explorer.
