If you are using a preior version to 4.9, my best suggestion to you is to not upgrade!

I did it, and I am so sorry for that.

There are 2 issues which almost killed my business, and no fix is coming for the last 2 months!

1. Banners are not rotating right. This post can explain why: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/277683/scope/posts/threadpage/1/Default.aspx

2. There are too many bugs with the scheduler. The scheduler just don't work any more. This post talks about it:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/279157/scope/posts/Default.aspx

These bugs are known for a long time now. And no fix is coming out.

So... Do not upgrade.

I disagree, we do not have any issues with DNN 4.9.1 on any portals.

Of course, we don't use Banners and have a different settings for the Scheduler.

Both issues will be fixed in upcoming DNN 4.9.2, which is planned to be available soon.

You should be looking at support.dotnetnuke.com to fix your issues.
If you follow the forums you should realise that 4.9.2 is being dogfooded right here, which may give a little clue that fixes your issues.
Pretty much all of us are recommending not to install 5.0 until 5.0.1 comes out. However I disagree with your advice here in most instances.

The point will be pretty moot soon anyway.

Collecting some experience in the IT-business (approx 20 years, the last as Director IT) i've learned at least three things:

1) Never use a dot zero version; e.g. i never will rollout a Microsoft-Server-OS until SP1 or at least some hotfixes are available

2) Never ever upgrade your production server until you made several tests on a second machine (which can be virtual as well)

3) Never ever upgrade your production server with such a system without a full-backup. Then you can complain about errors, but you can roll-back.

My advice, beside supporting this forum like Alex said, keep these 3 points in mind and you won't kill your business again.

Cheers

 Hi,

I'm not angree at anyone. I know that DNN is a free solution, and it takes time to produce a new upgrade.

I just think that when big issues like the two I mentioned above are coming up, it is neccasary to fix it asap.

I have a portal. My business is to sell advertisment spots in it.
I sell banners, and posts in my weekly newsletter.

My situation now is that my banners do not work. I needed to find someone who can render the 491 source for me, to fix the bug...
And the newsletter module doesn't work because of the scheduler bugs. I needed to find a new newsletter solution which do not involve using the schedluer...

In addition to this, my site is slower becasue of the fact that I cannot use the 'timer' scheduler mode (Another known issue since 4.9.0), so I use the 'request' mode.

Since my upgrade I am only fixing issues and bugs...
U should really belive me, I am missing my dnn4.6.
