Can someone clarify what Date the 'CurrentDate' skin object actually returns, in this case with DNN 3.1.1.

In a thread on the asp.net forums (http://forums.asp.net/thread/1050642.aspx) Geert said that the CurrentDate skin object used the Portal timezone setting in Admin|SiteSettings|AdvancedSettings|Other Settings, to modify the date.

On the installs we have it appears just to show the Server Time with no adjustment.

TIA
Antony

From my understanding it returns the time zone on what the administrator has set.

Have you changed that to see the output?

Thanks Nina its nice to know I'm in good company in understanding how this object should work.

Yes I have tried changing the TimeZone setting for the site but the date/time returned doesn't change.  I have also tried this on a dev server with same results.

Does it work for you?

Further to my last post I added hh:mm to the date format and then tried changing the timezone.  The result was that the time altered but not the date which it should have as the server time was -5 gmt and I altered the time zone to +10 gmt.

Looks like there might be some problem regarding the date part.
