I am using Xmod for a custom form that sends plain-text email upon submission.  One email is to go to an address that is monitored by a CRM.  The CRM takes the plain-text from the email and adds it to a database.  However, my DNN portal is sendind the email base-64 encoded so all the CRM can read is encoded text.

I tried a different SMTP server in the host settings but got the same result.  So I started looking at other emails from other portals of mine such as portal signup notifications, Ventrian News articles comment notifications and a few others and they too are base-64 encoded.  I posted for help at Xmod and received notifications from their site and they are not base-64 encoded.

Perhaps someone familiar with how DNN sends email could shed some light on this.  Is there a setting I am missing? is this a security feature added to newer versions of DNN (I am running 4.9, 4.91 and 4.92)?  Is it my SMTP server?  I tried Gmail as the smtp server and it is still base-64.

Thanks

Mike

Here are some things that I have tried.

I tried older versions of DNN right down to 4.3 and they all send base-64.  So I thought it might be an IIS-7 issue so I set up a site on IIS-6.  It sends in Base-64.  I have tried 3 different SMTP servers, one is Merak, one is Windows SMTP, and one is GMAIL and they all send in base-64.

A password request from dotnetnuke.com is base-64.  A password request from Ventrian.com is plain-text.  A notification from ActiveModules.com is base-64. A notification from dnndev.com is plain-text.

Does anybody have any experience in this? My pay may get held back.

Mike
