Hi, wow what an improvement....the skin is great but how about the speed.  This site used to be very very slow, often getting stuck, it is now very responsive, also I have noticed quite a decrease in the footprint size.  Can I ask, what are the factors used to make this happen, is the Pro version a factor, and how much does Pro cost?

I am not 100% sure of the specifics, but looking at the rendered HTML etc.  The DotNetNuke corporation has done a nice job of reducing the HTML overhead of the skin used on this site, which was helped reduce the footprint.  Also the editing of specific content elements has helped a lot.

As of right now, DNN Professional edition is the same as 4.9.2 from a code standpoint as far as I know, so it shouldn't be something that caused any changes.

You can get high performance sites with DNN quite easily with a bit of work.  My sites (www.iowacomputergurus.com) and (www.mitchelsellers.com) are farily fast as well running on 4.x versions of DNN.  My blog has a few recent articles that talk about how I get the performance that I do.
