I have read some posts but nothing seems to address my issue directly.  Please help.  Ive been down for 8 days now.

Here is what I have done.

1.  I have a backup of the database "rdrean.bak"

2.  I copied my entire site to my local machine.

3.  I started the new hosting account on the new server for the same url as the last one.

4.  I installed dotnetnuke on the server.  It created the mssql database "db name"

5.  I then restored the database from my rdrean backup to the new database it created.

6.  I then copied all the folders and file from my home directory to the new home directory.  EXCEPT the BIN folder.

7.  The default.htm file in the root does a redirect to the home directory.

I get a 500 error screen.

What can I do???

Thanks for your reply.  I do not know the answer to any of these questions except the web.config issue.  That I found on my own and made sure it remained properly directed to the new database it created.

I was told doing this move would be VERY simple.  "just backup your databse and files.  Start the new hosting account on the new server.  Install DNN.  Restore your database.  Upload your content."  Obviously this isnt even close.

Any DNN specialists want to earn some $$??
