The config folder appears to be OK as all security is inherited from the parent folder of ITLDNN so the asp.net account has access. Is 'content' a folder or a file? Either way, all looks OK here....

Here is a link to a download of the 4.9.0 website I am trying to upgrade to a subsequent version (117 MB). This version works fine both locally and remotely. The database file is included in the main folder with suffix .BAK. Anyone who can help me solve this riddle gets a prize... All details held in the web.config file. Thanks in advance. MARK.

Hi Mark,

I would like my prize please!

Steps to follow to a successful upgrade...

  1. backup (you have)
  2. unzip DotNetNuke_Community_04.09.03_Upgrade.zip
  3. upload everything into your site root.
  4. visit http://www.insidertech.co.uk/Install/Install.aspx?Mode=Upgrade
  5. Heres the weird part. After the upgrade finishes and you get the click here to visit your portal take a look at your default.aspx file in notepad! It somehow is the wrong file (subhost.aspx) then what it should be! This file is the culprit of the redirection
  6. Replace with the default.aspx from the upgrade zip.
  7. click the visit your portal link.
  8. All should be well now.
  9. fulfill prize

You don't get your prize if you don't log your issue in support.dotnetnuke.com !!!

In fact I've made a head start if you'd like to comment here:

Remember points mean prizes!!!

Thanks Dave!
