 Hi everyone!

I already asked this some weeks ago, but got no answer - maybe because the thread title didn't make clear what I was looking for.

I'm looking for an image module that can lay a second image over the uploaded one, e. g. a logo with a copyright notice, so that all uploaded images will have the logo overlay as a commen element. The overlay image should be stored independently from the actual image, so that it can be easily changed in the module settings.

I searched Snowcovered and the DNN marketplace, but didn't find anything similar. So I hope that perhaps one of you has seen such a module somewhere. Thanks a lot for any hints!

Are you looking for a gallery module or a module for a single image?  Ultra Media Gallery does this I believe.  Try www.bizmodules.com.  Ventrian Simple Gallery might have it now too, I think it was on the horizon.

Ultra Media Gallery does offer an overlay option (as Mike said).  However, I believe that option is just a web overlay.  Users can still download the image without the overlay coming with it.

If you want a true watermark (i.e., an overlay that stays on the image if the user downloads it) you'll need a solution that creates a "watermarked" copy for public display and preserves an "original" copy for those authorized to download the non-watermarked version.  Watermarks are extremely common on photo-purchasing sites.

Are you looking for a simple overlay or something that adds a watermark for non-authorized users?

Ventrian's Simple gallery allows for text-only watermarks that are added when the images are uploaded.  It doesn't support watermark images though - I'm sure Mike would be open to that suggestion if requested.

Hey Mart'n,

I am interested to see how you go with this as the site I work for is imaged based and we would like to "brand" our images with the appropriate logo's but more as a marketing tool than for copyright.

I look forward to seeing how you go!
