When I'm running the InstallWizard I get the following error:  Your site failed the permissions check.

Also if I select the Auto installation it runs many db scripts but at the end it fails because it can't write on the web.config.

I'm trying (without success till now) to set full control over the httpdocs folder, but it seems that can't be done under plesk.

Another possibility is to conigure a virtual directory and to give read permissions over that directory.

Since I have always run DNN on a remote root folder I don't know how to do that on a virtual directory.

Has somebody gone through this before?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Agustin

For the last install which I did on a shared hosting account using Plesk, it was necessary for me to first submit a support ticket requesting that the httpdocs folder and all child folders be granted full permissions for the Asp.Net woker process account. Technical support responded quickly and I was able to install DNN in the root folder.

Since your attempt to install failed, I would also strongly recommend that you delete all folders/files added for the DNN installation and drop then recreate the database before requesting the permissions be set on the httpdocs root folder and starting a fresh DNN installation.

Yes, Will is correct.  This can also be accomplished by editing the .SECURITY xml file that is found in the root of your FTP.

We use Plesk on our shared hosting servers so it is definitely possible to run plesk and DNN together.  :D

What version of Plesk are you using?  8.6.0.5 or 9.2?
