Also, I didn't notice anything about the layout of containers, just the skin.  Are there recommendations regarding the layout of the containers used with the skin?

I've used the YAML builder and the tutorial to try to setup my site.  I like the concept of the flexibility of the subtemplates.  Unfortunately DNN 5.01 renders my nested subtemplates incorrectly.  It ends up nesting them one level lower than they're written.  For example, with Div ids #Header, #Nav, #Teaser, #Main and #Footer when I add subcolumns to #Main everything beyond the first subcolumn gets nested WITHIN the first subcolumn.  That is all of the subsequent subcolumns and #Footer get rendered as if they are nested within the initial .subcolumn div.

That's not how it's written, that's how it's parsed or rendered.  An yes, I have made sure there are no missing closing div tags.

For trouble shooting I've removed the subcolumns and it parses correctly.  If I put a subcolumn back in #Teaser then #Main and #Footer are nested within it.  I've stripped the layout down to it's barest essentials and as soon as I add a div of class .subcolumns everything below it gets nested withn that subcolumn.

I'm a bit at my wits end and am considering moving to YUI Grids - which apparently is a "super style sheet" in 5.01.

Any suggestions?

Generally, if you have a column set to 250px wide and the end user inserts a photo 400px wide, instead of stretching the column and wrapping around this photo, it merely places the photo in column 1 while overlapping the content of column 2.  Less than gracefully, too, and your skin/layout is suddenly broken and looks extremely unprofessional.

I know this issue at best. We had this problem with an onlineshop where the product images (thousands) sometimes were too big. There is a css feature "display: table" which makes div working like a table. Unfortunately, it does not work in any version of IE (maybe 8 it does) and to tell the truth I'm not sure if there is a possibility to do this with div's that works in IE... I think it also looks unprofessional if the whole page jumps because of the table. We always recommend our customers a free image optimization tool and give them a max. width for images and tables.

An update on this problem - This unfortunate "re-nesting" of the subcolumns only happens on the home page.  All the other pages that are built off of the same template refrain from nesting div id footer within div id main.

So why does my div id footer behave as if there was a missing closing div tag when the template is not missing a closing div tag?  AND why does the div id footer behave this way only on the home page?

BECAUSE - One of the containers I used on the home page was missing a closing div tag.  Were that container not on the page the div id footer would be properly aligned in the div heirarchy.  fuffing duh!
