i'm using the DNN-Blue skin. i am able to alter the appearance of my site by altering the "skin.css" in the DNN-Blue folder in the "Portals\_default\skins" folder.

it seems i can change everything except the logo area. it has some padding around my logo that i'd like to get rid of but i can't find any reference to the logo at all within the skin.css. does anyone know where this area is defined? (why wouldn't it be defined in the DNN-Blue css? - also....i'm using the fixed width and the width is not defined in this css either???)

 The logo is implemented via a skinobject.  The skin object sets the image's ID value (the ID should be "dnn_dnnLOGO_imgLogo").  You can use this ID in your CSS to alter CSS of the logo itself but more likely you'll need to alter the CSS of the logo container object which really depends upon your skin.  The logo container object may not have any special class assignment or ID value.  For the skin "DNN-Blue - Vertical Menu - Fixed Width", the container element is a table cell with default 3px padding.  The cell itself has no ID value and no class attribute.  The cell's table is assigned class "skinheader" so, to get rid of the default 3px padding, your CSS should include:

   .skinheader td{padding:0px}

I recommend a CSS sniffer tool to help you quickly see exactly what is getting rendered.  I blogged about one free sniffer tool here (which is also the tool I used in replying to this post to determine the markup for DNN-Blue).

Cheers!

 Can you post a link to a sample page with the logo and the unwanted padding?

no - it isn't live yet. just picture a solid rectangular black box with white padding on all four sides (about 10 pixels each)

even if i make my logo image wider than the width of the page....it still has the padding - that's how i know it's a pading setting somewhere.

i've seen this issue posted on here over and over and over again - it's just too damn difficult to control/alter the logo area. you have to go hunting through stylesheets. and to make it worse....there's a direct setting in the stylesheet editor for logo background.....but it does NOTHING.
