dotnetnuke.com has gone DNN5.1 live I see .... when did this happen and did you guys rewrite any of the modules you are using that resides in the desktopmodules folder? Didn't you need to rewrite any modules at all or how did it go?

Please read here about dogfooding DNN 5.1.0.

I don't see a need to modify any of the bundled modules, there have been no issues reported for latest beta builds.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but over the last few days this site seems to be slow and I'm getting timeout errors poping up every now any again.

Is this just me?

And could this be linked to DNN5 being used?

If there is another explaination I'd like to hear it, my confidence in DNN5 is low already, so I'd like to hear some good news about it!!  Especially before I upgrade any of my live site.

I didn't experience DNN.com being slower than typically in the past, and not more issues than usual, i.e. about a handful of error messages per day.

Besides, DNN 5.1.0 RC has been applied just a few hours ago, i.e. issues on past days cannot be caused by it.

I think it could be a little slower right now - but that's probably down to tweaking and monitoring....

I would leave it at least couple of weeks before judgement from that angle is made.

Cheers....
