I recently signed up for DNN hosting at PowerDNN.com. According to the advertising on their website, they say they always install the newest version of the software. So after my account was setup, I noticed that they had installed v4.9.4, not v5.1.0. I wrote back, asking them why, and this is the answer they provided:
"Although you are looking to use v5.1.0, please be aware that we do not recommend that our clients upgrade to this version on their live sites. This version is highly unstable as it has many bugs that yet to be worked out. As such we want you to have the lateset stable version of Dot Net Nuke and would like to recommend that you use v4.9.4.
I've gone ahead and have upgraded your site to v5.1.0. Sorry for the trouble, but we're simply just watching after you. If you change your mind and would like v4.9.4 installed I'd be happy to redo the install."
I find this response a little odd? So is DNN v5.1.0 stable enough for production, or not, as PowerDNN.com claims? I don't have enough experience with DNN to know which version I should use.
Thanks
Brad
