this is a timeout on your sql server connection. it can mean a couple of things:

  • slow connection to sql server
  • server that hosts sql server has performance issues
  • sql server is too busy doing other things

first thing i'd look at is at the performance of sql server

a typical issue of server performance is size of the server transaction log. make sure, it gets truncated on frequent backups and shouldn't be larger than a few megabyte for a typical small/mid size portal, half a day after backup.

next check the size of eventlog and scheduler history, both should have less then 1000 entries. If necessary truncate the tables.

How do I truncate the server transaction log on backup?

I tried looking at the scheduler from the host login and experienced this error:

Error: Schedule is currently unavailable.
