I'm new to DNN and have taken over role of supporting a site running on DNN. The owner is wanting the Login/Register buttons in top right to be removed or hidden or moved elsewhere on the page (they already have everyone registered that they want, and they know the login link so don't need it displayed to everyone). Do I have to change a template or some other configuration? I appreciate if any answer you provide is easy for me to understand -  I'm just learning DNN. Thanks

You can hide the registration link by setting the registration type to  "None " in admin > site settings. The login link can only be moved or deleted by editing the skin

to move the Login button, you need to edit [Skinname].ascx file of the skin package (inside /portals/_default/skins/[Skinpackname] folder or /portals/[portalID]/skins/[Skinpackname] folder), which requires basic knowledge of HTML. look for < dnn:user tag in the structure and move the tag. For details about skinning, please see the skinning guide (get it from Support > Documentation > downloadable files in menu above).

I just edited the following to remove the Login button, and to remove the Register button / tab in the PORTLAS\_DEFAULT\SKINS\MYSKIN\page.ascx Just set the value 'true' to 'false' ShowHiddenTabs="False" ShowAdminTabs="True" ShowDeletedTabs="False" ShowLoginTab="False" ShowUserTab="False" runat="server" Thats is. I think depending on the skin you use, it might be that you have a different folder in your Structure. My version is 5.06 community
