Hello,

Is it possible to localize the time zones for the forums? For example, we have users in the US, but also in NZ and other countries.

All posts seem to use the UTC timezone I believe. Is there a way to localize this, so for example, people in NZ see the correct time for them, whereas people in the US would see a different time, for the same post?

Thanks.

Time stamp of all posts is localized to the viewers time zone (for registered users according to the setting in their profile, for anonymous viewers according to portal time zone, since there is no option to get viewer's time zone from the browser.)

Hmmm I've played around with the timezone for registered users now.

I see the problem is that the value is not initially set. That is, upon checking the timezone, it is set to Auckland, NZ time, however the forum is not picking it up. If I go to a user's profile and unselect then reselect Auckland NZ time, then update, the forum is then showing the correct time.

Do you know why it appears the timezone is not set (or not being used), even though it is showing that it is?

Alternatively, is there an easy way for me to set everyone's profiles, such as via the database tables? Which table and column is the timezone setting made?

The TimeZone is also set with the IIS, so you have also to check you Web.Config setting.  Id you there set the Time to DE-DE (germany) the server will calculate the time with the time Zone of the post.

About the profile settings please read the users Manual you can free download from the project download page on Forge. The user settings are cached, thats why it need some time, to update the users settings in the Forum.  The cache is updated if you save a profile.

To write a update script for each user need the same time as you update it over the user manager.  This happends about you have to write own scripts for each user.

AFAIK the server time zone shouldn't be taken into account (time zones are identified currently by UTC offset in minutes), but DNN does not take DST into account atm.
