Hey Jon, I know this is an old post, but the link for the css is broken.  do you still have the file?

Nope - sorry...

The provider has also changed somewhat since this post - as has DNN. I actually don't use the NavMenu myself anymore - I use either a custom SKO, or DNN360's CISS Side Menu (NavSuite) - both I've created my own XSL / XML / CSS and JS templates for.

Best thing to do would be to look at the skin submissions for the skinning contest. Nice examples - I did one too.

I can't figure out a way to have dnnNAV just display the root menu? I want only the root items to display and no sub menus to pop down with the skin I'm working on. I can't figure out a way to do this, is it possible?

this is my rootmenu:
<dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="NAV_Top" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" IndicateChildren="false"
                        ControlOrientation="Horizontal" CSSControl="mainMenu" CSSNodeSelectedRoot="MenuRootItemSelected"
                        Level="root" PopulateNodesFromClient="false" ExpandDepth="0" />

level should be root and ExpandDepth shoul be 0.
Hopes this helps you.

I have two menu's: topmenu and leftmenu. The leftmenu are the childeren of the topmenu.
I want to show de active menu item on the topmenu and on the leftmenu. The topmenu is no problem if i use .sel to style it.
But the leftmenu wouldn't work. If i use firebug on a selected item in the leftmenu i can see that there's no class definied! Is this normal?
selected element from the topmenu: <span id="dnn_NAV_Top_ctlNAV_Topctr58"  class="bc mi mi4 id58 root">
selected element from the leftmenu: <ul id="dnn_NAV_Left_ctlNAV_Left" class=""> <li id="dnn_NAV_Left_ctlNAV_Leftctr90">... </ul>

my topmenu:
<dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="NAV_Top" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" IndicateChildren="false"
                        ControlOrientation="Horizontal" CSSControl="mainMenu" CSSNodeSelectedRoot="MenuRootItemSelected"
                        Level="root" PopulateNodesFromClient="false" ExpandDepth="0" />

my leftmenu:
<dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="NAV_Left" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" IndicateChildren="false"
                    ControlOrientation="Vertical" CSSControl="childMenu" CSSNodeSelectedSub="MenuSubItemSelected"
                    Level="same" ForceDownLevel="true">
                </dnn:NAV>
