Hi There,

about a week ago I found and immediately started to use DNN. In few days I set up a decent looking web site and wanted to complete my work over the next couple of days.

Now starting today, the only thing I get is a "Runtime Error" - message on my screen as soon I try to open my site.

I must say that till that point, everything went very smooth. The installation of DNN 3.2.2 and the addition of external modules and skins/containers. So today it failed and I called my hosting provider (1&1 - Germany). They tell me that today they are changing from Net1.x to Net2.0 and thats why I see those problems.

Now my concern is that DNN3.2.2 might not work with Net2.0 anymore. Could somebody please let me know if I have to modify something on my existing installation to get my site back up and running ? OR would you expect that it just will work with Net 2.0?

Here is what I found in the download section of DNN:

"Also note that this version (Dnn3.x) is compatible with ASP.NET 2.0 from a run-time ( not development ) perspective. Therefore you can modify your website configuration to use ASP.NET 2.0 rather than ASP.NET 1.1 if you so desire. "

What does this mean ... modify my website configuration ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

Hi There,

I solved the problem by changing to a new hosting provider www.powerdnn.com.

I found that 1&1 is advertising with DNN but the premium support people I talked to had no clue about it and gave me some pre-boxed answers which were useless or even wrong. I I would be an expert on DNN I might have figured something out but as I just want to build a simple web-page fast, I decided to go to somebody who can help when I need it.

cheers

Peter

I backed my 3.2.2 back out to using 1.1 because I couldn't get it it run in 2.0 without errors.  When I finally did get it running, my filemanger stopped worknig rendering the site useless.

That's probably the best solution. If you're truly wanting 2.0, I'd suggest you go ahead and move to 4.1 when it's released. This might be a good long term move, anyway.
