i have downloaded the dotnetnuke starters kit and have gone through the installion process when i ran the application. And it does not run fine. it gives error like 'you are not authorized persion to view this page.

Please help me solve  this issue'

Start kit is mainly for developers.

Are you developing? or do you just want to install DNN? in which case you need the install version not the starter kitg.

There is plenty of help out there is you google for it (i.e. keywords - installing DNN).

Yes i do develop. i am trying to create a skin file and so would like to do that by downloading the DNN.

i am unable to run the application in my local machine. the installtion was comeleted and still it gives me a page where it says like 'upgrading dotnetnuke' and the version details but it doest let me see anyother page.

Could anyone can help me

Since you haven't installed it yet, delete what you have and download the Install file.  Also download the Documentation and read the docs on installation.  Install from the Install version, you don't need, or want, the starter kit for developing skins.
