Hi Zuhaib Bukhari,

The dnn menu is implemented as a skin object, which is to say its a line of markup that lives in your skin ASCX file. You will want to find the menu element in the skin you are using and remove it. It will most likely be called "dnnmenu" but may be called "solpartmenu" depending on what version of DNN you are using.

Hope that helps,

Ian

Look for this in your skin files that will be under Portals/Skins/YourSkinName/YourSkinName.ascx

<dnn:NAV runat="server" id="dnnNAV"  ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" IndicateChildren="false" ControlOrientation="Horizontal" CSSControl="mainMenu" />

And remove it.  You won't have any menu then.

Thanks for the clarification Philip, next time I won't be so lazy and I'll actually look in a skin file :)

However, don't forget that removing this item will remove your ability to access the Admin and Host menus, along with all the sub-menus. I would only advise doing this once you have a comparible menu provider ready to be installed since the items aren't exactly 'static' like traditional sites. Some of my currnet reccomendations for menu systems are:

NavigationSuite by DNN360.net - great package of many styles based on several CSS methods (including SuckerFish)

NukeMenu by HouseOfNuke.com - good for creating a simple UL-based menu system, great if you have a CSS design for these lists (a la Suckerfish, etc.)

xMenu from MarkitModules.com - Haven't deployed it to a production site yet, but it sure looks pretty.

There are also many more menu systems avaialble on Snowcovered.com

Good Luck!
