 Hello Everybody I've got a question related with async postbacks animation that take place in DNN. When you check "Enable partial rendering" checkbox in module control editor, you'll be able to see animated gif shown when async postback is performed by this control. Does anybody know how to customize this behavior? For example, how to disable showing this gif? I'll appreciate if somebody gives me a useful tip about this!

Thanks in advance!

Hey Vladimir,

I don't know of a clean way to get rid of it entirely, but you can replace the animation image which is located in the root of your website, in the images directory, and is called "progressbar.gif".

You could perhaps copy the 1x1.gif image and rename it to progressbar.gif. Although the page might still "jump" a little bit in order to accomodate the new "invisible" element.

Hope that helps,

Ian

 That's what I have already considered, but I still hope to find cleaner way of doing this. Anyway, I appreciate your answer

Vladimir,

Well let us know what you decide on and if you found a satisfactory solution. Which, now I'm a little curious as to what problem you're trying to solve exactly. Was there a particular reason you wanted to remove the progress bar? Does it not match the theme of your site or was its "sudden" appearance disruptive to the page?

Thanks,

Ian

 Ian,

I simply want to replace default ajax postback animation by my own. For example, that would be good to display some animated gif (placed in properly positioned gif) at the right bottom corner of the page every time asynchronous postback is initiated. That's easy to do by code like this:

<script type="text/javascript">

            Sys.Webforms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(onBeginRequest);

            Sys.Webforms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(onEndRequest);

            function onBeginRequest() {

                $get("divAjaxProgress").style.visibility = "visible";

            }

            function onEndRequest() {

                $get("divAjaxProgress").style.visibility = "hidden";

            }

        </script>

It will take me just to modify default DNN page to get this stuff used. That's why I want to find out if there is a way to get DNN not showing animated GIFs when postbacks are performed.  At the moment I can say that I haven't found DNN to use any settings while generating UpdateProgress controls, unfortunately.
