At this point I don't as I've always used a SQL login to connect to the database. I'd have to try to setup a database using Windows Authentication and see if I could recreate the problem.

Mike,

I think I might try to remove the AD module to see if this module is causing this error for starters.  Do you think I should do that?  This error has popped up randomly 3 times this morning while going to the default page initially.  It usually takes about 5-10 minutes till I have access to the pages again.  If the AD module is the culprit, how do I remove all remnants of the AD module to test if this error comes back?

Thanks,

I am having second thoughts now, trying to figure out if AD module is causing the problem.  I think something in the module is causing this behaviour.   I changed the impersonation line to reflect a different user.  So when it errored again this afternoon, it reflected the domain and the changed userName I put in for the impersonation.

FYI, when I initiallaly configured the DNN 4.9.4 install, this was my setup when configuring the Database Connection:
Select Database: SQL Server 2005/2008 (Express File)
Server: .\SQLEXpress
Filename: Database.mdf
Integrated Security: Checked
Run as DB Owner: Checked
Object Qualifier: Blank

Thoughts?

I saw this error too after I tried again accessing the default page using the login link using AD.  FYI I havnt un-installed any modules yet.  Maybe this error will shed some more light.

Does the impersonated user have modify access to that App_Data directory? That's the only thing I can think of at the moment. I've never run DNN by attaching the database SQL. I've always created the database via the database scripts.
