NOTE: I cleared up the "subject" so that it made more sense.

Okay, I contacted my hosting provider (Crystal Tech), and they were able to pull the backup and set www.woodsborovfc.org back to Version 4.5 which works fine.  Since I knew the upgrade to 4.9.4 worked from vrs 4.5,  I decided to upgrade the site again to 04.09.04 and HOLD.  It successfully upgraded againg to 04.09.04. So its happily working again (at this time)!

I fear the step to 5.4 since it didn't go well this past weekend.  So, I'm holding off until I can do some more research on what I failed to do correctly. Where's my dotnetnuke for dummies book? (j/k).

I looked over that site (http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/AboutDotnetNuke/V3V4TippsTricks/Upgradedurchf%C3%BChren.aspx) and I think I've hit all of these aspects to get to version 4.5 (as you were questioning). If the upgrade to version 4.9.4 seemed to work fine, then I guess that's a second gesture that the site is still good, right?

Hmm... the only external module I have is "Ultra Media Gallery 5.3.0", which I don't believe poses an issue from what I can determine.  I just finished upgraded all of the modules under version 04.09.04, I didn't do that last time. I'm not sure if that had something to do with the version 5 failure. Still I'm leary of upgrading to version 5.

Additional Thougths/Suggestions?
