Hi!
I have a client who wants to have a presentation made in "Classic ASP" in his DNN site, I have tried to put it in a folder in the actual portal (/portals/0/presentation), and it is not found (error 404 ) when I try a url like http://www.url.se/presentation/ or http://www.url.se/presentation/default.asp . If I use http://www.url.se/portals/0/presentation/ or http://www.url.se/portals/0/presentation/default.asp I get a "500 - Internal Server Error" message.

What can I do to make it work? There is a MS Access database connected to the presentation as well, but I don't think that is the problem at this point.

I have also tried to put it in the root of the website folder as well with the same results using urls http://www.url.se/presentation/ and http://www.url.se/presentation/default.asp.

According to the webhost .asp pages are enabled and allowed on the server.

I don't need to actually get it working "in" DNN, but I would like to have it running from the same site/folder structure.

/Jari

Hi Jari,

This can be done. I suspect a permissions issue, or bad connection string with the access database. To verify classic asp is indeed working create a new file in notepad. call it Test.asp. Then add these contents to the file...

<%Response.Write("Hi Classic ASP")%>

Then browse to the location you placed the page. If all is good it should output the message Hi Classic ASP.

HTH's!

Thanks!

That worked fine, I have put the hosting company to work. The connectionstring seems to be correct as well so it has to be a permission issue.

HTH's?? Not a familiar expression to me... :-D

This could also simply be that your host is not configured for Classic ASP.  It is not the same as ASP.NET and the server has to have it enabled.
