Has anyone successfully done this? I think I am the first on PowerDNN ;)

Anyway, I had my test site (replica of live) upgrade from 4.9.4 to 5.1.2. The site is unusable (click on login/join). I use custom login providers so I'll do some investigating... just wondering how other upgrades went?

All my containers that were hidden seem to be visible now too - I'll report back after I have investigated....

Method not found: 'Void DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(System.Web.UI.Control, DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleInfo, DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings)'.

Hi Rodney,

I have successfully upgraded 2 x 4.9.4 sites to 5.1.2 today without problems. They were only small sites (less than 20 pages each) & the only 3rd party module I had installed on them was openwebstudio. All hidden containers seem to be still hidden.

Have you tried upgrading a fresh 4.9.4 to see if the issue still persists?

Thanks for confirming Adam - I've got a lot of playing around to do - I suspect it is related to the custom providers - no worries, I'll check in later!

Hi Rodney,

My upgrade to 5.1.1 went smoothly until I clicked on Access your portal. My module contentwas gone and I had the same error that you have on your test site. I have the dnnstuff aggregator all over my site and the fix was as simple as upgrading to the latest dnn5aggregator. As soon as I did this, the error went away and my modules started to function properly. I've seen your postings on dnsstuff forums so I'm assuming you have the aggregator installed on your site(s) also. Here's the thread I started on dnnstuff's forums about this issue:

Hope you get it fixed.

Paul

Hi Paul.

Yes, the Aggr. mod is the core of my site too - the problem was that I could not log on to my test site and was not logged in as Host so I could not upgrade. I chanegd the DB to turn off the custom authentication providers so I could log in (this worked) and then installed the 5.x version of the Agg module.

I have the same problem still - I think I am using a 4.x version of the RAD/Telerik controls -

Could Not Load Container: /Portals/6/Containers/PokerDIY/NoContainer.ascx
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unhandled error loading module. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionBase.get_PortalSettings() at Telerik.DNN.SkinObjects.MenuActions..ctor() at ASP.desktopmodules_radmenu_radmenuactions_ascx..ctor() at ASP.portals_6_containers_pokerdiy_nocontainer_ascx.__BuildControldnnRADMENUACTIONS() at ASP.portals_6_containers_pokerdiy_nocontainer_ascx.__BuildControlTree(portals_6_containers_pokerdiy_nocontainer_ascx __ctrl) at ASP.portals_6_containers_pokerdiy_nocontainer_ascx.FrameworkInitialize() at System.Web.UI.UserControl.InitializeAsUserControlInternal() at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(IWebObjectFactory objectFactory, VirtualPath virtualPath, Type t, Object[] parameters) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Pane.LoadContainerByPath(String ContainerPath) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

So I'm trying to find out more about that... The top menu (Telerik) is working fine (I have this .dll Telerik.Web.UI 2009.1.402.20 installed, but the RadActionMenus are not.

Any other modules need a 5.x version specifically?
