I installed DotNetNuke in a sub-directory on my hosting server. The installation went smooth. After successful installation, it said, 'Click here to go to the portal' (something like this).

Clicking on which it went to the dotnetnuke path where I installed (www.brainscale.com/blogs/default.aspx). But showing only 'An Error has occurred', 'An Error has occurred'.

Check this http://brainscale.com/blogs/ to see the error.

The installation didn't run correctly.  Delete database and all files, and run new all the installsteps, after you have checked the correct physical folder and file permissions. Do not use the setings section of the IIS 7.0 before you run successfull the install!

My hosting is with DiscountASP.Net. I don't have any settings to modify the IIS, except 'ASP.NET Version' and 'Application pool pipeline mode'. For which the current values are '2.0 or Higher' and 'Integrated' respectively.

I deleted all the database files (tables, stored procs etc) and the physical folder. When upload a fresh copy and do a clean install, the same error repeated.

Can any one help me setup DotNetNuke, It's urgent for me to setup and run the portal. Please!!!

Without the right permission setting of the IIS I can not help. Contact your ISP to set the right permissions for DotNetNuke.  I am not a costumer of DiscountASP.NET and can't know about there settings.
