Hi,

First of all - I apologize if this has been answered somewhere in here, my my searches in this forum keep giving the result:
A critical error has occurred. Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

Anyway, my problem:

O/S: Windows Server 2003
IIS: 6.0
DNN: 05.01.00

I unzip to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke, create virtual directory - made it an application... etc.. I keep getting the error:

"Page cannot be found" (HTTP 404) when I try to go to http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx

I checked all permissions, paths, etc.
I verified site is Framework 2.0
I unchecked "Verify that file exists" in application extension mapping
I ensured Default.aspx was in the default content page

Strangely, I can go to another file in the folder ... like http://localhost/DotNetNuke/logo.gif - works fine, just not the Default.aspx!!!!

Any ideas????

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hi Len,

I am stuck with the exact same problem.

I created a file in the c:\DotNetNuke folder called "default.htm" with the text "Hello World".  Using IIS Manager, I modified the properties of:

Default Web Site \ DotNetNuke \ Documents and moved the file "Default.htm" above "Default.aspx" and I could see my "Hello World" (even from a remote computer).

So, if you find a solution - I'd sure apprecate an answer...

Thanks!

David

I figured out what my problem was.  Not sure if this is the same for others.  I put it on a new server, and had not enabled the ASP.NET Service Extensions.  I'd forgotten that by defualt on IIS 6 the extensions are disabled.
