  • when does the error occur?
  • which version are you upgrading from?
  • are there errors in the upgrade logs (in website/providers/dataproviders/sqldataprovider folder)?
  • are you able to access the site and login?

I got this same exact error when trying to install an older module that works on a 4.9.0 nuke onto the new 5.2 nuke.  This module has a createNewPage method that is throwing the error.  This is copied directly from my event viewer:

InnerException: Method not found: 'Void DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabInfo.set_TabPermissions(DotNetNuke.Security.Permissions.TabPermissionCollection)'.
Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Method not found: 'Void DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabInfo.set_TabPermissions(DotNetNuke.Security.Permissions.TabPermissionCollection)'. ---> System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabInfo.set_TabPermissions(DotNetNuke.Security.Permissions.TabPermissionCollection)'. at snapApps.DNN.Modules.snapContent.snapContentEdit.CreateNewPage(String name) at snapApps.DNN.Modules.snapContent.snapContentEdit.AddImage(String compression) at snapApps.DNN.Modules.snapContent.snapContentEdit.lnkUpload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
this same exact code is working fine on the 4.9.0 nuke core so I am thinking there must be something different about tab permissions on the new nuke.

bigweamer -

The TabPermissions property of the TabInfo class became a read only property starting with DNN 5.00.00. Contact the vendor of the SnapContent module to check if an upgrade is available for DNN 5.x.

Hello Bill,

Thanks for the quick response!  The company I work for snapApps.com developed this module, so I am going to be doing the modifications to get it working on the newer nukes.  Any tips on how I will need to modify this Tab_Permissions class to get stuff working?  Our module is creating new pages dynamically and this is causing the issues.  Basically, the module is for displaying the employees of a business.  You enter an image which becomes clickable and the code creates the new page that the image links to for the description of the employee etc...

Thanks,

Andy
