   I am trying to install DNN 4.02 and I get this error. I created the database, and applied all the appropriate permissions. I upgraded to .net 2.0. and now I am banging my head on the floor....

I too am getting this error.  Did you figure out what was going wrong? Please let me know.

Please post your appSettings and connectionStrings sections of your web.config file. My guess is that you don't have your conn string in both places.
