What I just found is that hitting Login on any other page BUT the home page was easily twice as fast to respond.

I'll try and publish a few of my optimized skin objects tomorrow, this should solve the problem with the login and register skin objects... The main cause for delay, is the huge amount of unnecessary data which gets posted (uploaded) back to the server when you click on the links...

Oliver - thanks - I was thinking about this exact thing - why are they not just links without a postback? I link to the login and new profile page all over the place...

My guess would be to protect against bots.. maybe because it's a heavy operation? Or perhaps just a security measure.

I agree that response tends to be slow after clicking login..

Hows this going Oliver?

IMHO - the Login link needs to change to Logout when you are logged in etc.
