So we are up to DNN 5.x -- can we use a custom page for "Terms of Use" or "Privacy pages" yet? Are or we still stuck with whatever page skin our home page is using? My most recent clients site is using a very specific page for the homepage that is basically unusable for the two mentioned pages. Would it make more sense to create a custom home page and just let the default DNN home page be for the "Terms of Use" or "Privacy pages"?

Thanks for any suggestions or information provided!

Jim

Well to be honest, i always prefer to have my own terms and privacy pages (create the pages manually) instead of using the default one from default skin. For me it is just easy to maintain.

Thanks for the tip, and I don't mind doing that, but wouldn't that involve modifying all of the skin templates on the site to change the links to the  terms and privacy pages to hard page links? And by the way, I did try creating my own homepage and using a less highly formatted skin for the DNN "home" page -- it didn't work. DNN will still use whatever page/tab is assigned to "home page" for terms and privacy.

I added a enhancement request for this in gemini some time ago but I dont think the core team understand the issue.

FWIW, using hard coded pages for these also eliminates a SEO glitch with respect to having the single page refenced multiple times by search robots.

I always hard code the skin for these in sites I control.
