I recently attempted an upgrade to 5.2.3, but realized my host did not support .Net 3.5.  I then downgraded back to 5.1.1.

I ran into some errors which I fixed, but then none of my HTML or Blog modules worked.  I get a generic "A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error.

I deleted the HTML module code that I could find and reinstalled it.

Now, the HTML and Blog modules work fine, when I am logged in as a host.  But when I log out, the error comes back.  I looked in the event log, and can't find anything that indicates an error.

Any ideas?  I am completely stumped.

there might be an issue with DNN client code. did you make sure to use proper version and cleared browser cache as well as server cache?

Cheers from Germany,
