Sebastian, that brings another thing to mind: I have seen some blog modules that recommend turning caching off for the module. Does the DNN Blog 4 module also recommend this practice? If the problem recurs, it may be worth trying.

had a look at the blog_module: settings - page settings - basic settings - cache settings.

output cache provider = file Inherited, cache duration [seconds] = 0.

This module has indicated a recommendation to disable caching (select NONE from the Output Cache Provider list above). Enabling caching on this module is not recommended and may cause the module to display stale data.

i assume that the output cache provider is being inherited from admin-pages: settings - page settings - basic settings - cache settings.

so i read this as "cache to file" but nothing would be being cached as the duration is 0?
