Hi,

I'm already running some DNN portals and they're doing fine. Now I want to set up a "Master"portal and a couple of "Sub"portals whereby most of the "Master"portal is exactly the same in the "Sub"portal. Except of some pages like contact etc. The reason why I want to share most of the content is, that I don't want to update the "same" page in each bloody portal.

For sharing users there is a module available.

Any idea how to achieve that?

BR
Christoph

there are 2 options to be used: either RSS or create a custom version of HTML module, which derives content from a different portal.

Thanks. I think I go for the second option.

Christoph, I've been trying to do the same thing. You may like to try the "Inventua Shadow" module. It allows for mirroring of content from one portal to another and is a free download from their site: http://www.inventua.com/shadow-overvi...

I have a requirement similar to this as well. The Inventua Shadow module looks interesting, but it only allows you to configure the content to come from another portal in DNN 3 and 4, so that rules that out.

I can see how the RSS technique can work with say a news module or blog, but can it be used to link content in other modules, say HTML, between portals. How would that work?

Can a child portal share the content of its parent portal?
