The chap working on Simply Classifieds vanished after I spent quite a bit of time working with him to improve it. He was doing a good job but then all came to a grinding halt. I tried to use the module live but had to remove it in the end.

It'd be great if someone did something along the same lines. The handful of commercial classifieds modules available are too complex for simple notice boards like this module provided.

I needed something where people could post anonymously, a non-admin role could approve, edt and delete them, ads would expire on a schedule unless renewed, and the image uploads would be resized and thumbnailed, with the full-size original discarded. Some categorisation/filtering of the list would be handy too. The Simply Classifieds module also conveniently showed details views in an overlay.

Richard, the bigger modules are likely to be able to be configured how you want, so if you don't find anything else, then you might just have to get one. If you have Ventrian's subscription then I'm pretty sure Property Agent can be configured to work in a similar fashion.
