This is the most current message, most likely from when I went to the site and was color coded in Orange.

I have seen those two errors addressed in the forums previously but don't believe there is a full understanding of the cause or solution, however.

You may find the following post helpful as it does address the issue in those cases when the upgrade failed to modify the appropriate sections of the site's web.config file or the new module caching providers did not get installed:

Jeff, I have multiple portals in a DNN instance that is currently at 4.9.0 - I want to move them to 5.3.1 - did you ever get this situated? The person that set this instance up placed 30 sites in it! I am trying to find the best way to fix this issue. Any thoughts?

I've still got the issue. I am still studying the threads and references that William Severance directed me to. I tried to go in to my Godaddy Hosting connection and do a rollback to previous version, but once that was completed, it just gave me a Webconfig page. I'm working on it and will give you the info when I figure it out.

 Thanks, Jeff...

Ok, Here's where I am now with this problem. I did another rollback to the previous version and got the runtime error back. I've encountered this before and looked back through the threads but could not find the info that I used to repair it before.  It's the same that happened last time after I did a rollback after I got the other problem mentioned in this thread. Here's the message.

Server Error in '/greenbrierband.net' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>
