I am new to DNN and have recently installed it on a shared web server where each site on the server is assigned an IP address. I have assigned a new IP for the new DNN install. I can successfully browse to the home page of my new DNN site. However, when I attempt to go anywhere else on the site (ie. login), I get redirected away from my IP to the localhost (example: servername.domain.net). I have added the IP address to the PortalAlias table and restarted accordingly, but this does not work as the page just hangs without a timeout.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Make sure the PortalAliasId for the IP address portalalias is lower than the localhost one. You may need to switch them manually in the database. The first (lowest) portalAliasID/portal Alias will trump the next ones for the same portal. By switching them, it should resolve your issue.

Hi, I have probably same problem. I have install Dnn. On localhost I can browse/edit web. But when I get to home and open our domain (http://something.cz), then I get only http://gym-s1.cz and error, because gym-s1 is local name of the server. I try edit db and change HTTPAllias to our domain (before there was gym-s1) and I get in Firefox this error Loop in redirect Server redirects requests to this address himself in such a way as to prevent their completion. * This problem may be caused by disabling or refusing cookies. I don' t know solution. Anybody can help me? Thanks

I spend much time to solve the problem, but without luck... I tried to: - enable "anotherport" option - manually rewrite versions of Ajax - change portal aliases - create new portal, add not working alias, remove portal, add alias back to previous portal - many new fresh installations - remove some web.extension.dll, but I don' t have her in bin folder - try run dnn on port 80 - and so on and so on but without luck.. My situation is: fresh install of dnn: DotNetNuke_Community_05.04.02_Deploy fully functioning SQL Server 2008 Express Windows Server 2008 SBS 64b IIS 7.0 Fresh install of dnn without problems. We use internal web on port 80, so we use then for our public school web port 8080 (IIS 7). Linux makes firewall and translates all outsides request from port 80 to our internal port 8080, where should run dnn. But I get only redirect loops. When I try to run dnn on port 80 (I disable internal web), I get still only redirect loops... When is alias name of our server, all works fine from internal network (but not from internet)... when it is our public domain, nothing works nowhere. Can someone help me?
