Hello all,

I have installed DNN version 5.1.4. I am suddenly getting this error when I try to open the Host Settings page:

A critical error has occurred.
Could not find file 'C:\Temp_ka2rfoiy343b\wpalmtuf.dll'.

When I try to look at the Site Log, Event Viewer, File Manager, Schedule and SQL (some other tabs also) I get a different error that starts out like this:

Error: Site Log is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: External component has thrown an exception. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: External component has thrown an exception. at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.Compile() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at

I am not sure exactly what caused this. It seems to me that it happened suddenly, but it is possible it happened when I upgraded a module that I have. This module is for a contact form and it is also not working correctly. It says that it cannot connect to the server to verify the license. However, it only says this error on random days. Like for example today it has the error, but yesterday there was no error on the module. But everyday there is an error on the Host Settings page.

Thanks for reading, I someone has an inkling of an idea.

The dll it is erroring on is not shipped with DNN.
You need to find out what that dll is for then take action. I'd first look at the module you installed perhaps the module installs the dll?
