I want to be able to have a user login, and based upon his/her role, will get redirected to a specific page on my site.  Can this be done?  If so, can someone please explain how I can do this.

As an example.

Cindy Lou logs in.  She has the role of 'membersonly'.  Because she has this role, she should be automatically redirected to the page /membersonly.aspx.

Thanks!

Shaun

This can be done but not within the core of DNN itself. You can either develop a custom module to do this, or you can look at third party solutions. I believe DataSprings may have a module that will do this for you.

You can do this by doing some minor changes in the core . You can write your redirection code in the Login.aspx.vb page and redirect the user on the basis of it's roles.

Hope it helps.

Hello Shaun,

I recently purchased Data Springs "Dynamic Registration" and so far I am completely happy with it, took me about 30 minutes to get the hang of the GUI and then i was able to use it.  Already I have custom SQL firing and inserting records elsewhere when a user logs in.  the custom redirect it 10 seconds work.

I would not recommend upgrading the core.  DNN Corp are doing at least 12 releases a year and piling on new and exciting functionality, if you change the core you are building a headache.

Download and play with the trial version of Dynamic Registration from data springs.

Thanks for the feedback Mark! Shaun - Yes, our Dynamic Login module has the features to handle this requirement. I would check out this module or download a trial from our site at www.datasprings.com. Thanks! Chad
